Article tone, references

[edit]

The article used to have a rather unencyclopedic tone bordering on an advertisement. This includes the use of weasel words such as "well-known" to describe the Amsterdam 70-gene breast cancer gene signature, sales information such as coverage by US insurance schemes, and the repeated mention of other tests whose only connection to MammaPrint seems to be the common marketing. I have removed all that while adding links to relevant articles about the scientific background. The article also contained a vast list of scientific papers about the procedure, only one of which was actually linked to the article's content. If some of those papers explain in greater detail how MammaPrint works, such information could (and should, IMO) be contained in our article, with the relevant papers used as a source, but the pure list of papers is not helpful to readers. What the article instead needs is more references to actually source the content - I'm pretty sure none of the academic papers will contain information on the price, and the FDA link we once had was broken. The sampling technique may be detailed in some of those papers, but unless we can point the reader to the specific paper supporting that content, that's not really helpful.
