Discrepancy w WP-fr
[edit]French WP has ⠡ ċ, ⠚ ġ, ⠣ għ, ⠱ ħ, ⠽ j, ⠩ x, ⠷ z, ⠵ ż. This was the 1954 Unesco proposal submitted to the Maltese Office of Education. — kwami (talk) 21:25, 21 August 2012 (UTC)
Clarification 2023
[edit]I did some historical research. In 1953, UNESCO was all about pronunciation, so they proposed a system using the 'ch' sign for c since Maltese pronounce c like an English 'ch', etc. There was no communication in 1990, so no Maltese entry in WBU 1990. WBU 2013 repeated what was in 1953. In 2015, I got a chart from Michael Micallef from the MALTA INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AGENCY which straightened out these letters.
However, the 2015 chart also shows a plain c as dots 13, ż as dots 13456-13456, and a spurious entry for għ. I will fix the main page soon. Silver dot (talk) 23:05, 5 March 2023 (UTC)
