[edit]I have some conflict of interest in this article topic, but I hope my recent edits are uncontroversial, just updating details of the forthcoming book Sex and War and adding citations. Bondegezou (talk) 22:24, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Birthdate
[edit]Dr. Potts's date of birth is not mentioned. That seems unusual for a Wikipedia article about a prominent person. Tesseract12 (talk) 16:46, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
- Remember WP:DOB applies. Bondegezou (talk) 15:54, 28 October 2021 (UTC)
- I completely respect your judgement in this matter. I want to add that his birthday (but not the year) is the same as mine. His exact birthdate is also the birthdate of a certain extremely famous deceased person. Tesseract12 (talk) 23:18, 9 March 2022 (UTC)
A question
[edit]I was always an admirer of the work of Malcolm Potts, and that of Caroline Deys, in advocacy of women's rights to choose concerning contraception and abortion. Anyway, is Dr. Potts still a professor at Berkeley, or is he now Professor Emeritus? Tesseract12 (talk) 18:41, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
- Emeritus -- have added citation to article. Bondegezou (talk) 23:25, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
Inconsistency between Wikipedia and another site
[edit]Please feel free to delete this if you believe it does not belong here, but on Prabook, Oliver Potts is listed as one of the children of Malcolm Potts and Caroline Deys. Isn't that incorrect? Tesseract12 (talk) 17:34, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
- Prabook, as far as I can tell, does not satisfy WP:RS, so we ignore what it says. Bondegezou (talk) 18:45, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
I guess you're right. It occurred to me to take another look at that listing (just to make sure that I wasn't the one who was mixed up). It gives her name as "Carolina Deys", and says that Malcolm Potts was married three times. Tesseract12 (talk) 17:02, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
An update: As of December 2023, that entire listing has disappeared from Prabook. Tesseract12 (talk) 03:45, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
Martha Campbell
[edit]I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Martha Campbell, another great crusader for reproductive rights. I know that it happened two years ago, but I only became aware of it recently when I noticed that the page no longer mentioned her as Dr. Potts's wife. Tesseract12 (talk) 01:15, 22 October 2024 (UTC)
