First of all, he isn't from the Kurdish region in Iran. He wasn't born in Iran. I have a video of where Makwan says he is from. Also, he is a Kurd which you don't care about because you don't listen Ninja... He carries the Kurdish flag. — Preceding unsigned comment added by EDITINGREASON (talk • contribs) 16:30, 24 March 2018 (UTC)

Kurdish in the lead?
[edit]This edit was reverted by Cassiopeia reason being "again - no WP:ETHNICITY in the lead section"
I explained to him/her - That is a guideline, NOT a policy and as per "It is a generally accepted standard that editors should attempt to follow, though it is best treated with common sense, and occasional exceptions may apply". In this case of Kurds, being a nation without a state(country) (info & also this book (if you require an academic source to start from))) if we were to follow this strictly we would have to erase nearly every lead on List of Kurds & Category:People of Kurdish descent stating they are Kurds which definitely does not seem right at all.
Some current examples - Kae Kurd, Nadhim Zahawi, Mehmet Aksoy (filmmaker) Saad Eskander, Tara Jaff. In the case of Mr Amirkhani, he represents Finland and also Kurdistan when he fights, based on his clear indication of raising the flag of those nations. A lot of Kurds would be misrepresented by simply stating the nationality by just stating Iranian, Syrian, Iraqi or Turkish. So would these Category:Kurdish sportspeople people.

- Comment: I have explained in here-1, here-2, here-3, here-4, and here-5 where WP:ETHNICITY (No ethncity/blooline/heritage in lead/intro, but in body text which the info already in "Background" section, guidelines have provided to them, yet they dont seem to read or understand. Cassiopeia talk 04:13, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: I hope I expressed your view point clear in that case, because that's all you repeated in every response? Repeating and ignoring my reasoning is not following WP:DR. I mean I clearly did explain my reasoning to you here, which you ignored. Your response begins at "here 1" indicating clearly that it was like talking to a brick wall with you and this is why there are talk pages. --TataofTata (talk) 04:48, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: You need to understand that WP:ETHNICITY is the guidelines here and not the links you provided which are not Wikipedia guidelines but categories and list. Cassiopeia talk 05:08, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: Like I have said to you over and over, it is simply a guideline and it clearly states to use common sense. See WP:COMMON. --TataofTata (talk) 05:25, 25 September 2021 (UTC)
- Comment: I have always said to you many times, If you wan to edit Wikpedia then followed the guidelines and there is a guidelines for this issues. Just as I tell you why common sense at times does not apply in your talk page which you stated you dont understand why I use other example. Here again, if the source we could find stated (example here - not related to the article here) has 2 sons and in reality the subject has 2 sons then we put 2 sons and common sense does not apply here since Wikipedia is all about verfiability and not the true, same with the issue you raised here. If common sense applies to very things, then Wikipedia would not have any policies and guidelines in the first place, and since they do, and the guidelines and policies are what we adhere to. If you want to champion Kurdish ppl then you might want to find other blogs or social media as your editing choice. I understand you are passionate bout Kush subjects as your ethnicity is Kushish but you need learn more about Wikipedia guidelines and editing norm for you are new editor and you also have been warned for editing warring before, pls learn and listen to other more experienced editors and Wikipedia is not venues to champion any races/ethnicity but an enclyopedia. I have explained in 3 different talk page (yours, mine and here), Pls go and reread the messages I sent. I dont think I can add more here forward. Cassiopeia talk 05:35, 25 September 2021 (UTC)

- Comment: Further examples I would like to add, Elena Arizmendi Mejia as she married a German who naturalized as an American, she was not technically Mexican. In this video interview at around 5:30 mark Amirkhani clearly states he is Kurdish and "loves" his "country Kurdistan", but then says he is from Iran, before anyone gets confused sometimes Kurds refer to which part of Kurdistan they are from based on the current countries that partitions Kurdistan. There is a clear cut case of Kurdish national identity. As I have also already pointed out Kurds being a nation without a state, (sources above).
- Next, looking at this WP:EGRS guideline (see ethnicity section) in addition, even though it is for categories it uses national origin (which points to nation) which is different to nationality (citizen) and also ethnicity; so it is distinguished. Kurdish national identity matters in this context. Another example Wilma Mankiller (marked as a good article) she is an American Cherokee, another nation without a state. So having the lead properly include his national idenity is a key context here. --TataofTata (talk) 16:17, 27 September 2021 (UTC)
Amirkhani is a Finnish-Kurd
[edit]Your attempts to erase and eradicate Kurdish identity are pitiful and unfortunate. He is a Finnish-Kurd. 2601:601:9200:3880:71A7:5058:D300:5CC8 (talk) 00:38, 6 August 2022 (UTC)
- 2601:601:9200:3880:71A7:5058:D300:5CC8 As mentioned to your before, No heritage/bloodline/race/ethnicity should be placed in the Lead section (Intro) as per Wikipedia WP:ETHNICITY section but the body text section. If you want to add the info on the Background/personal life section of his enthcity/race, you are welcome to do so with only independent, reliable source such as from the major newspaper and the source can be any languagues.
