To me, this still looks like an advertisement - because of the second paragraph (and the headline in bold above it). I see it is the text appearing as 'book description' in Amazon. Is it taken from the back cover or something? Or is it some catalogical description? In any case, the source should be noted and the text should be quoted. 00:02, 16 March 2007 (UTC)
This page is a book review, not an advertisement. It may need improvement to avoid language that makes it sound like an advertisement, but it has useful content that does not merit deletion. It is linked to many pages as well, including to Joseph Stiglitz' page. My sense is that this was flagged by someone who read this very quickly, and was put off by some phrases in the introduction. I've now edited that opening paragraph, and hopefully the "Advertisement" effect will be no longer noticeable. Bothell130 03:50, 17 December 2006 (UTC)Martha
Currently there are no pages that link to this page (look under "What links here" on the left side) Subwayguy 03:55, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
The page has a lot of links to other parts of Wikipedia and to external sites. I have now added a link from Stiglitz' page to this newest of his works, a well as one from Globalization. I would encourage you to add some if you think it needs more links. Bothell130 04:03, 17 December 2006 (UTC)Martha
For Subwayguy -- Thanks for pointing out the problems with links on this page. Hopefully more will be done by the original creators and editors of the page. You have a new flag to rewrite, but have not added any ideas on how you think this should be done. It would seem much more likely to help the creators of the page respond to your critique if you explained your perspective. You will note that the creators are new users -- Just flagging this page alone will discourage people, and does not encourage any real learning. Please be sensitive and help people out -- the end product will be stronger.Bothell130 20:19, 17 December 2006 (UTC)Martha
This article is unsuitably advert-like. I've attempted to rework some of the text to make it more neutral and encyclopaedic. Please feel free to rework it more. --mcld 12:32, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Stiglitz Cover.jpg
[edit]Image:Stiglitz Cover.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
