I'm starting to address the review of this article. Full review by the end of the day. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 16:08, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

[edit]

The cover needs "Alt".  Done

Lead

[edit]
  • Between "song" and "by" → recorded. Otherwise the sentence is not coherent.  Done
  • "Released as the album's second single, the song was first released digitally on February 12, 2016" → Replace on of the "released" for other word.  Done
  • "Considered a departure from her previous single" → Who considered it a departure? Critics, fans, herself?  Done
  • The whole sentences needs re-writing something like "Make Me Like You is considered a departure from the lead single (link here Used to Love You) by (inserted who considers a departed). The song..."  Done
  • "music critics" → Many music pundits. Wider range of vocabulary, avoid repetition.  Done

Background and recording

[edit]
  • "After releasing two songs that were made to become singles from her upcoming third studio album" → Citation needed and change the "made" to "meant", sounds and flows better.  Done
  • The reference 8, seems to be from an unreliable website (gossip website), could you provide another link?  Done
  • "After the moderate success of "Used to Love You", Stefani decided to release a second single as a "Valentine's Day present" to her fans. "Make Me Like You" was released digitally on February 12, 2016 as the album's second single and was serviced to mainstream radio on February 16, 2016." → Wrong section please create a Release section (if it's too short incorporate it with the release history like this) and then move the two sentences into there. Mention the other release dates, as well.
    • I renamed the section so it fits accordingly.  Done
  • If it's recording a new paragraph with the writes, producers, mixers, masters, engineers would be more than appropriate here.  Done
  • I forgot to mention something; "was serviced to mainstream radio on February 16, 2016" → Where?

Composition

[edit]
  • Change the tile to "Composition and lyrical interpretation"  Done
  • It lasts for three minutes and 36 seconds. Citation Needed.  Done
  • Sample of the song, according to the full length of the song.

Critical reception

[edit]
  • "Robbie Daw of Idolator was extremely positive to the track" → "Robbie Daw of Idolator was extremely satisfied with the single".  Done
  • "while Bianca Gracie and Mike Wass of the same publication also gave a positive response, with Gracie calling the song's melody "wildly infectious" and applauded it for being "pure, vibrant and cheeky pop," and Wass labeling it a "breezy anthem" and "a worthy addition to Gwen's discography" → full stop after "response", start the sentence with "Gracie called...". In the same vein, Wass labeled it....  Done

Commercial performance

[edit]
  • "Make Me Like You" was moderately successful upon release. → It doesn't seem "moderately successful" according to the chart positions.  Done
  • Very poor section. You could make a "reference" to almost every chart position where it started, weeks spent, debut and high peaks.

Music video

[edit]
  • No issues.
    • Hey thanks!

Live performances

[edit]
  • "Stefani has performed the track several times lives" → You mean two times, otherwise I need more shows of the performance of the song live.  Done
  • I wouldn't make YouTube my primary source of information. Please add another link.  Done

Track listing

[edit]
  • So I can't purchase the song as a single, I have to purchase the entire album? Work that reference.  Done

Credits and personnel

[edit]
  • Management → add some management personal to this section, otherwise change it to "Recording"  Done
  • Personnel → link mixing, songwriting, production. Only once each.  Done

Charts

[edit]

Release history

[edit]
  • I have already mentioned in the "Background and Recording" section.  Done

References

[edit]
  • Ref 8 and 13. Either remove "Spin Media" or add a publisher to the others links. I will leave it up to you.  Done
  • Ref 16. Link Billboard.  Done
  • Ref 32, remove the link of Rolling Stone. Overlinking.  Done
  • You have to address 43-45  Done

Overall

I will hold this article for seven days until the issues are addressed. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 17:14, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Carbrera:, I would like to pass the article but I'm stil having some doubts regarding the prose. Could you submit it to Guild of Copy Editors. After a revision there, the article would be passed. MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 21:28, 30 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
