Happy to review this. Comments follow soon. --Jens Lallensack (talk) 18:44, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • 997 – 1029 – en-dash is used without spaces: 997–1029
  • the gradual shriking of Buyid holdings – "shrinking"?
  • He was the eldest son of Fakhr al-Dawla. – Maybe this person could be briefly introduced (e.g., "amir from xxx–xxx"), which may help readers.
  • whilst his mother Sayyida Shirin was the real ruler of the kingdom – the text reads as if the senior emir (e.g., Baha al-Dawla) would have been ruler?
Sorry, I'm not sure I understand. Baha al-Dawla was the ruler of the branch of Baghdad/Iraq, and eventually Shiraz/Fars. He was the suzerain of Majd al-Dawla, who ruled the Ray branch. But the real ruler of Majd al-Dawlas realm was his mother Sayyida Shirin. Do you think I should change something? --HistoryofIran (talk) 22:04, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah. Re-reading it, it makes much more sense. No, I don't think this needs further clarification. --Jens Lallensack (talk) 14:08, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • link "vizier"?
  • escaped to the Badr ibn Hasanwayh – "the" too much?
  • at Isfahan, mentions Majd al-Dawla as shahanshah. – comma too much?
  • Under "Sources", you list a lot of sources which are not referred to in the text using inline-citations. Have these sources been somehow used for the article? If not, better rename the section to "Bibliography"? If the latter is the case and it is more of a "further reading" list: Why is, for example, Curtis, Vesta Sarkhosh; Stewart, Sarah (2009). The Rise of Islam: The Idea of Iran Vol 4. I.B. Tauris. ISBN 978-1845116910. listed here but not in your other article Sayyida Shirin?
I think that was because I initially used the sources, but removed them after I found other sources which explained it better. I've moved Curtis to Further reading, but I can't seem to find other unused sources? Do you have a tool for that? --HistoryofIran (talk) 21:58, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I just thought the list looks visually much longer than your "References" list, but actually it isn't. No, all others are cited in the article. --Jens Lallensack (talk) 14:08, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • That's all, very solid, very few issues. I like the "Background" section, providing enough information for the context. The most challenging for me as reader is to remember all these different, sometimes very similar names, but I guess this is difficult to avoid. --Jens Lallensack (talk) 20:56, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Jens and thank you for the review. I will be crossing the fixed issues for practicality, hope you don't mind. Can't argue with you on the naming part, it's confusing indeed lol. --HistoryofIran (talk) 21:58, 8 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Closing note: Thanks. The only open point is minor and partly subjective. I therefore promote the article now, congrats! --Jens Lallensack (talk) 14:08, 9 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
