I regret that I did not find this article 5+ years after the initial suggestion to delete this article, as I would have voted most emphatically to Delete. This article has absolutely no reason to exist, as there is nothing so distinctive or distinguished about this recording of Mahler's Symphony No. 4 to justify it having a stand-alone article, any more than the 70+ other studio recordings of this symphony. The only reason that this article even exists is because of one wikipedian's besotted obsession with Frederica von Stade, which is the very same reason that the sister article of the Yoel Levi recording of Mahler 4 exists. To be quite blunt, every single article by said wikipedian that focuses on a recording that features Frederica von Stade needs to be removed from wikipedia. If that person wants to maintain an internet 'shrine' to Frederica von Stade at his own expense, that is all well and good. It is not acceptable in any way at all to build such an internet 'shrine' on wikipedia with all the attendant waste of bandwidth. However, I suspect that it is too late to delete this article, as much as it should be deleted. DJRafe (talk) 15:43, 29 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
