Contested deletion
[edit]This page is not unambiguously promotional, because...
- The subject of the article is a recipient of Dr. B. C. Roy award, the highest Indian award in the medical category and Padma Shri, the fourth highest Indian civilian award.
- The length of the list of achievements by a person does not necessarily mean it is promotional.
- All the information therein are sourced from reliable third party sources, mostly from the medical field.
- No apparent claim has been left without a supporting reference or references.
Would request a fair assessment of the article as verifiable facts, just because of its abundance, should not be left out of an article nor it should be taken as the reason for denying the subject, the space he deserves. --jojo@nthony (talk) 09:51, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
- Adding to the above:
The subject's claim to notability is based on four main arguments:
- He is the winner of the highest medical award in India, Dr. B. C. Roy Award.
- He is the winner of the fourth highest civilian award in India, Padma Shri.
- He is the first dental doctor to win a Padma Shri award.
- His efforts in developing a dental school with moderate facilities into one of the highest rated ones in India.
Trust these arguments have been supported by multiple references, without resorting to weasel/peacock wording. A few inadvertent usages, which could be construed as judgmental, have since been removed. The rest of the article is basically the listing of his positions and the other honours he has received.--jojo@nthony (talk) 13:25, 7 November 2014 (UTC)
