Infobox
[edit]Per Template: Infobox person: Nationality. May be used instead of citizenship (below) or vice versa in cases where any confusion could result. Should only be used with citizenship when they somehow differ. There is no confusion on Madelyn Dunham's citizenship or nationality; like her grandson, she was born in the US and therefore her nationality is American as is her citizenship. It is unnecessary, therefore, to include either field, but certainly is not needed to use both fields. I left "citizenship" since that's such a hot button for some non-believers about the Obamas, and removed "nationality" because it is redundant and the infobox is crowded enough already. Final resting place
[edit]Dunham is not interred in the Punchbowl National Cemetery as is incorrectly stated in the infobox. Her body was cremated and the ashes scattered at the Lanai Lookout. Please correct this misinformation. 11:15 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.254.44.63 (talk)
UU, not Methodist!
[edit]It seems clear that Ms. Dunham's religious identification was Unitarian Universalist, since she attended several UU churches, her grandson attended UU Sunday School in Hawaii, and her memorial service took place at that same church. Although she may have been raised a Methodist, she no longer chose to consider herself one. I suggest that her religious affiliation should be changed. Wikinutmeg (talk) 16:52, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
- Fixed. 7 years later. :) —PermStrump(talk) 22:19, 30 December 2016 (UTC)
Lung cancer?
[edit]Whilst the vast majority of sources give no clue as to the type of cancer she died of, search engine results include some which state lung cancer, but the links are dead. Lkjhgfdsa 0 (talk) 12:58, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
Taking care of daughter
[edit]Should there be mention of Madelyn taking care of Ann prior to Ann's death? I just read that in the husband's bio, so it seems more relevant here? thanks,--Threeafterthree (talk) 02:55, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Ouch. Inaccuracy: "She helped raise Obama from age ten in her Honolulu, Hawaii apartment, where she also died on November 2, 2008,[4] only two days before her grandson was elected the 44th President of the United States."[5] - |

Dunham was a very rich Lady
[edit]In fact, that tax return is currently posted on the White House website. In a Schedule D, showing "Capital Gains and Losses," it indicates that the Obama’s inherited $480,908 worth of Bank of Hawaii stock."
