Has Macon had any? Could someone add it?

- Actually, the name of the city comes from Senator Nathaniel Macon, as the article explains. Several other cities and counties in the US are also named for Macon, who was quite a big deal in the early republic. The name of the French city Mâcon is coincidence. - Also odd that the history section jumps from 1916 to 1994 or so with no mention of the 80-odd years in between. Or was something edited out? By 1970, the city was no longer really a "transportation hub" and streetcars were long gone. Seems like the period of the World Wars and the post-World War II transformation into a city in which the dominant transportation is private vehicles could be mentioned. Lots missing here; unfortunately, I don't have any good sources to work from. Any Maconites on Wikipedia who are willing to expand the article? 83.25.94.187 (talk) 10:12, 11 February 2018 (UTC)
