Merge proposal

[edit]

Merge this into the article with the current name of the town. If people are likely to hunt for this name, then create the redirect page. CPAScott 13:53, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As you like. I was just trying to be historically thorough. - iainsona (without a page of my own yet) 14:06, 9 August 2006 (UTC) P.S. I suppose that there is a way to get my USERID and the time to pop up automatically?

By the way, did you mean Muddy Brook into Maberly or Maberly into Elliston ? Iainsona 15:30, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I meant Muddy Brook into Maberly, which I see you've done (BTW, I made Muddy Book a redirect page to Maberly). I suppose an argument could be made to do the same for Muddy Brook into Elliston too, but I'll leave that to you. Basically, the idea is to comment about historical information as a section unless it's really noteworthy. You can then use Redirects to get people searching for the historical name to the current page, where you talk about the history. --CPAScott 16:53, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Just wanted to be sure :) Iainsona 00:57, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reference doesn't seem to be working correctly

[edit]

I'd thought that I'd figured out references — I looked at an example in the Newfoundland article and copied the idea into the SS Newfoundland article and it worked. I'm pretty sure that I did the same thing here but the square brackets are coming up where I think they shouldn't; the http address should be hidden. Any thoughts anyone as to why?
