Recently added section on police funding should be removed or improved

[edit]

@phonetagged (talk · contribs): the section you added re police funding is written with poor citations and strongly biased language and poor citations. Please update this section to include reliable citations and remove bias or risk the entire section being deleted. Thanks!

Examples of poor citations: - “McElhaney initially said she...” (no reference to when this was said in the citation) - “...in a Oakland City Council meeting on June 16, 2020, did not specifically say whether she supports or opposes redirecting money out of the OPD budget“ (citation to June 16 mtg minutes isn’t verifiable as there is no verbatim transcript of the meeting. The minutes only capture high-level actions. If you are referring to a particular point in the video of the meeting, please cite the video and time stamp of when McElhaney refused to ask) - “newly formed Equity Caucus’s” (there is no source for the date the equity caucus was formed)

Examples of biases writing: - “conservative “Community First Budget,” (“conservative” Is a value judgement And does not follow Wikipedia’s encyclopedic standards) - “which only cuts 1-3% of funding from OPD“ (“only places a value judgement and does not follow Wikipedia’s encyclopedic standards). - “The budget was submitted last minute before the City Council meeting” (last minute is a value judgement and is not cited in the reference source) Kingofthebog (talk) 06:57, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
