floated article May 2011
[edit]Note: this is an Editing for donations project, similar to Bounty Board, in that Partisan Records and Knitting Factory Records is contributing funds to the Wikimedia Foundation to prompt volunteers like me to write about this particular subject. Regardless of this donation, all Wikipedia's pillar rules still apply: neutrality, reliable sources, notability, no advertising, verifiability, balance and such. Feel free to edit this article like any other. I encourage others here to join me in the editing for donations project since it helps pay for things like computers and salaries and whatever they do (Wikimedia is a non-profit parent to Wikipedia). There's a list of still-to-be completed articles on my user page under "Partisan Records" and "Knitting Factory Records". Questions? See here. --Tomwsulcer (talk) 14:08, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Too positive & promotional
[edit]this article is relentlessly positive with absolutely nothing that could be regarded as critical of the band...not really balanced is it? Why is trivial fluff needed on how many hundred or so albums they press & the colour of the vinyl? I'm sure the record company/band/sponsor/donor was well pleased with such a quality looking puff piece! 94.193.14.87 (talk) 05:20, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
- Yes, I agree. I helped write the article years back, but I have long since dropped it from my watchlist, and lack time as well as interest to try to police it. My sense of the promotional cruft is that it detracts from the believability of the article -- that is, the extra-positive writing tone undercuts any promotional effort. So, if people feel strongly about the promotional tone, steps to take are (1) add a "promotional tone" tag at the top of the article (2) edit the article, removing the cruft. Just keep in mind that there is a learning curve towards becoming a Wikipedian. Takes time to learn about referencing, the back-and-forth of editing, how to work with others here. Good luck.--Tomwsulcer (talk) 11:39, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
