Release Date

[edit]

I have to raise a bit of a serious question regarding the release date of the video game. There's certainly plenty of evidence that it will be released in Halloween of 2019, this year, but there's quite a flood of videos on YouTube already showcasing the story mode of the game. So the question I have to ask is this - has the game already been released, is the release date for other countries, or are those videos for copies released in advance for those who reserved them? I believe review copies went out to media outlets and I’m sure to "influencers" as well, sometime last week. I know that the embargo for media outlets to at least talk about it lifted on Monday; don’t know about video, but I wouldn’t be surprised if "influencers" were allowed to post video early. redspartatalk 23:41, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Some reviewers also do their review in video form, I would assume that those were allowed to be posted once the embargo lifted. I have also heard (although not from a reliable source, so don't take this as truth) that some stores somewhere (accidentally) sold the game before it was supposed to release, so people who shouldn't have the game yet, may currently do, so that may explain why you have been seeing videos from people about the game before the release date. I believe it was most appropriate to release this game on Halloween.Nate-Dawg921 (talk) 00:21, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Date format

[edit]

I have been bold and added a Template:Use mdy dates at the top of the page to hopefully aid consistency across the page. I've currently changed the dates to this format. We should probably discuss which format we want to use, though, so we can keep such consistency in the future. I personally don't really have a preference for one, I just chose this one pretty much randomly. Stefvanschie (talk) 09:52, 25 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sales numbers (November 2021)

[edit]

Just to clarify the reversion of the numbers here: the combined total (10.29 mn) has been added a few times to the List of best-selling Nintendo Switch video games too, and has been reverted each time.

A fuller explanation can be found on that article's talk page, but to summarise: the total was obtained by combining two numbers that don't refer to the same thing. One is a shipment number and one is a sell-through number. As the two are different metrics, they can't be meaningfully combined. marsdeatTalk 17:25, 16 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
