Claim to size
[edit]Please note, I removed a citation to ACTEWs own website regarding this being Aust largest effluent treatment plant.
Such a citation should come from an independent source and identify the criteria for asessement, ie:
- tonnes of throughput
- land area of total facility
- surface area /volume of ponds / treatment tanks only
- pump capacity
- inflow or outflow
- capital value of real estate / plant
In different regions each criteria will have a different weighting: same land area in the ACT isn't worth near as much as it is in Bondi!Garrie 10:50, 23 December 2007 (UTC)
- Hi, the claim by Icon water (the current owner) is now that "The Lower Molonglo Water Quality Control Centre (LMWQCC) is the ACT’s main wastewater treatment plant and is the largest inland treatment facility in Australia."
- Also from Canberra Sewerage Strategy 2010–2060
- https://www.iconwater.com.au/sites/default/files/2023-10/Future%20Sewerage%20Options%20Review%20Summary%202010-2060.pdf
- The current daily flow entering LMWQCC averages 80 ML/d with a total solids load of 37 t/d (based on figures from 2004 to 2009)
- ....
- Between 1990 and 2008 average flows from LMWQCC to the Murrumbidgee River were 81 ML/day, a contribution over 29 GL/year (p4)
- In the latest annual report:
- For the period 2022–23, the LMWQCC, Canberra’s primary sewage treatment plant, processed a total sewage inflow (raw sewerage) of 43 GL and returned 39 GL of final effluent (clean, treated water) into the Molonglo River.
- We also recycled approximately 2 GL of treated effluent onsite with the remaining volume accounted for in losses through the solids management process. 124.149.31.85 (talk) 05:50, 8 November 2024 (UTC)
