a note about this article and "Marie Antoinette's World" by Will Bashor
Reading the above mentioned book, I noticed the section on the count (around p.20) is suspiciously similar to this article, even down to organization and phrasing. However, I double checked and the passages in question were in the article before the book was published. If I were Mr. Bashor, I would be ashamed of myself. At the very least and the purpose of my comment here is to say that his book should not be used as a supplemental source in this article (which had been my purpose in looking up his book) as it would create a closed circle.
