The encyclopaedia reference to the band only being active until 1970 must be incorrect, as Los Zafiros incontestably performed in the Morecambe and Wise Christmas Show of 1971, on BBC Television.Silas Maxfield (talk) 12:56, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
On reflection and after some research I have realised that Los Zafiros who played on Morecambe and Wise, a three-man mariachi-style guitar band, are patently not the same Los Zafiros named in this article. They were not doowop, and they didn't sing nearly as well, and they wore "traditional" South American costumes. I am going to change the supplementary note and revert the Cuban Zafiros' date of disbandment to 1970 unless someone has a definite reference that states otherwise. It's possible that the UK based group took the name because the real Zafiros was no more. Silas Maxfield (talk) 10:48, 21 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
