[edit]

Los Olivos is widely considered a kind of rural Bevery Hills with a fairly large number of Hollywood Actors and Directors having lived there over the years. Another intersting local feature is the use of big residential barns to run specialized business or to do special projects. One resident built famous "Mule Wagons" in his barn that sold nationwide. Another had a huge 1/8th scale catamaran ferry boat model that was at least 40 feet long, being mocked up in his barn. I'm told a lot of similar "behind closed doors" efforts can be found around the area.Nativeborncal 04:48, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

stress on first syllable of Olivos?

[edit]

How did this peculiar pronunciation come about when the Spanish word olivo meaning olive tree is stressed on the second syllable? Is it because the English word is stressed on the first syllable and the founders didn't know any better? Or does the name mean something other than olives?Rijkstra (talk) 09:04, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Demographics?

[edit]

The article states that Los Olivos has a population of 1,000. From reading this article one recieves the impression that it is an enclave in a rural area of wealthy people and nobody else. This article could be expanded if someone familiar with, or living there could provide additional information on the actual aspects of the population. T.E. Mega Action star

Steven Seagal isn't a Mega anything.

The large section of external links to wineries does not belong in this article per WP:NOTLINK. I removed it, but it was undone without comment by an anonymous editor. I have redone the removal and invited the IP editor to comment here. Ultimately, this section does not belong. agtx 04:11, 28 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
