Fair use rationale for Image:Kilgallengarage.jpg
[edit]Image:Kilgallengarage.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Feedback
[edit]Minnaert asked for some feedback and I wanted to raise some issues here prior to making changes.
- I'm not sure about the sections on some collections simply being External links to the museum's site. If the collections haven't been written up in reliable sources (which I imagine they have), maybe they could be mentioned in a block i.e. LACMA's collections include the following: x, y and z. The ones for which we do have information can be expanded, as they are now.
- Also the list of directors and adjacent photo isn't playing nice on FireFox on Mac -- that may be just me though.
Just some quick comments, pressed for time at the moment. TravellingCari 19:34, 17 August 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, i'm not quite sure how to structure all of this. I wanted to try and have some information on most or all of the departments of the museum, so that people can get a decent idea of the scope of the museum without being overwhelmed. I am more familiar with modern & contemporary art, and those areas have been in the news more recently, so that information was a bit easier to collect. Does anyone have suggestions of how to represent or group the areas which don't have content in them currently? I have seen that a bunch of photo in commons for LACMA are east asian / indian artifacts, but I know very little about that area. Minnaert (talk) 15:57, 26 August 2008 (UTC)
This event is scheduled for February, but preparations should start sooner. I suggest if you want to participate you folks form an ad-hoc committee and get in touch with the museum people. Thanks.--Pharos (talk) 01:59, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit]Currently the painting is labeled at commons as being in the collection of the National Gallery of Art. As long as the painting is mislabelled in commons it should not be used in the encyclopedia until proof and reliable sources can show it is in the collection of LACMA or elsewhere...Modernist (talk) 03:44, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
