[edit]

I have taken out the recently inserted links because one of them is dead anyway and the other is misleading. The modern use of the word lorry is much more general than that of the period being discussed in the article. Truck is even more so. Apart from the steam lorry, a glance through the truck article does not reveal even the mention of a lorry as meant by the word in the period discussed in the Lorry (horse-drawn) article. Even with the picture of the steam lorry, there is no way of knowing what body it has on its chasis. A motor lorry of say, 1920 had an open, flat deck - no comcrete mixer or tank or deep sides or roof. (RJP 18:06, 6 March 2006 (UTC))[reply]

A truck is a motor vehicle for transporting goods, so it looks you are talking about a kind of truck. You can add explanation to the link or to the truck article, but deleting the link does not seem helpful at all. The idea is simply that in "A in the sense of a kind of B", the broader category B is linked, regardless of whether that kind is discussed in that article.--Patrick 19:25, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Both links work fine for me.--Patrick 19:22, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
