Deleted factual statements unsupported by citation

[edit]

I removed the following paragraph as no citations were given which supported the factual statements made in the paragraph:

"He is known for founding one of the largest Welsh festivals of its kind in the United States, curating the first Eisteddfod in Los Angeles since 1926,[1] and founding the most widely distributed print publication based in the United States about Celtic cultures and interests.[2] In 2014 he won the Eisteddfod Honorary Recognition for Bardic Achievements Award."

The first citation links to an article which mentions the subject and that he was a co-ordinator of the 2011 West Coast Eisteddfod but does not say that the event he worked on was "one of the largest Welsh festivals of its kind in the United States," does not state anything about him having founded any festival and does not state that he curated an eisteddfod. No source is cited which verifies or reliably sources these factual statements.

The second citation links to an article which states that an artist from the Isle of Man will be featured in Celtic Family Magazine but does not state that the subject founded this magazine nor that the magazine is "the most widely distributed print magazine based in the United States about Celtic culture and interests." No source is cited which verifies or reliably sources these factual statements.

The final factual statement has no citation listed and no source was given for this.

This paragraph and the statements in it do not meet the requirements of WP:BIO or WP:RS or WP:V

SusanGrigg1 reverted deleted paragraph unsupported by citation

[edit]

Hello, SusanGrigg1 - you reverted the deletion I made of a paragraph which was unsupported by citation. The defects in citation have not been corrected and the factual statements I deleted still have no supporting citations in violation of WP:BIO, WP:RS and WP:V. Can you tell me on what basis you have reverted the deletion? You described the deletion I made as "possible vandalization," can you tell me why you consider this edit as possible vandalization? Thank you very much, Gaabib (talk)

Susangrigg1, please respond to me here on talk page regarding reversed deletion

[edit]

You did not respond to my questions but added two citations to the article.

These citations appear to only support the factual claim that the subject was the curator of the West Coast Eisteddfod - is that the claim that you are making? One of citations is a press release written by the subject of the article and does not meet WP:RS and WP:V and the other is an article based on that press release and so does not also meet WP:RS and WP:V and so I believe this factual claim remains unsupported.

In addition, these factual claims on this page also remain unsupported:

- that the subject is "known for founding one of the largest Welsh festivals of its kind in the United States";

- that the subject is "known for ... founding the most widely distributed print publication based in the United States about Celtic cultures and interests" as the paragraph above identifies him as the founder of Celtic Family Magazine but no citation is given supporting the statement that it is "the most widely distributed print publication based in the United States about Celtic cultures and interests"; and

- that the subject "won the Eisteddfod Honorary Recognition for Bardic Achievements Award" as no citation was given for this statement.

In the event that we are unable to resolve these issues here in the talk page, this may be referred for assistance from an admin and I'm pretty sure we're required to talk to each other on the talk page and try to work this out. You haven't answered my question as to why you reversed my deletion of this unsupported paragraph and you haven't answered my question as to why you implied the deletion was vandalism.

Please discuss here on the talk page.

Thank you very much, gaabib (talk)

Discussion resolved, Susangrigg1 responded on my talk page

Susangrigg1 responded on my talk page instead of here to say that these paragraphs were re-edited and additional citations were added. gaabib (talk)
