Straw Bales banned

[edit]

Not sure if straw bales were ever banned as such (they're still used at Goodwood Festival of Speed). They were certainly still in use during the 1969 season albeit not at the Monaco chicane. Mighty Antar (talk) 23:41, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fatal accident

[edit]

He hit a mooring head along the harbor circuit, not a light pole. The concealed mooring head ripped into the lower body of the car, rupturing the gas tank that surrounded the driver's compartment. Gasoline spray can be seen emanating front the fuel tank area at the front of the vehicle. Straw bales were not central to the fatality. The issue was relatively exposed mooring heads alongside the track, the unsafe placement of fuel tanks, and the lack of fuel cell technology at the time. Straw bales are a topic of discussion for untrained, unobservant types. Give me a break. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.240.172.212 (talk) 22:26, 1 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
