GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)
  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose, no copyvios, spelling and grammar): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
These comments are still in progress, I will list them as I find problems:
"In June 2014, Lorde revealed that her second studio album would be "totally different" from her debut album, continuing to reveal her writing style had changed and that she is working on new music and "it's definitely still at the beginning."[43]" - run-on sentence.--¿3family6 contribs 15:42, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    Fixed. Simon (talk) 05:03, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
"Musically, Lorde is inspired by Lana Del Rey,[61] James Blake, Yeasayer, Animal Collective,[62] Kanye West and Prince.[63]" - So SBTRKT, Grimes, et al. weren't musical influences?--¿3family6 contribs 15:42, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    Fixed. Simon (talk) 05:03, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    Needs proof-reading and copy-edits throughout. A lot of the prose is quite clunky.--¿3family6 contribs 16:04, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Would you mind clarifying which part of the prose? Simon (talk) 05:11, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    I think you got most of it.--¿3family6 contribs 16:38, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I would rename "Achievements" as "Awards and nominations." See Eminem.--¿3family6 contribs 16:04, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    Done. Simon (talk) 05:03, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
"Britney Spears named Lorde as an influence, commenting that her music "[is] really different and cool [...] It's inspiring for me, and it makes people eager to listen to music, which helps everyone."[95]" - It would be more accurate to say that Spears says she is a fan of Lorde. Also, the quote is used out of context. She did say that Lorde is "really different and cool" but the second part was her commenting on how "This generation is hungry for new sounds", which includes Lorde but is not limited to her.--¿3family6 contribs 16:04, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    Fixed. Simon (talk) 05:11, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (reference section): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR):
This source is used to support the statement that Lorde discovered a love of singing and acting at age five, but I can't find that in the source. I might have missed it, though.--¿3family6 contribs 16:34, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I spot-checked for many of the sources, due to the large number of them. Everything appears adequately cited, with no original research.--¿3family6 contribs 16:34, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You are right: that source doesn't verify the statement. I have rewritten that sentence. Adabow (talk) 01:26, 16 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
The article stays focused on the subject. The scope is pretty decent as well. However, the whole section dealing with her feminist position should be expanded. Right now it reads like she's a feminist because she doesn't mind if people get naked. It should detail her attitude toward Miley Cyrus and the presentation of women in pop music culture.--¿3family6 contribs 16:04, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I neither know nothing about this nor find the source. Could you give me the source? Simon (talk) 05:16, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
See the section on public image. The sources given in the article are Clash, New Zealand Herald, and V. The New Zealand Herald references an interview with Q, which I think is only in print. However, The Blemish has several extended quotes from the interview.--¿3family6 contribs 05:52, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I have added a bit to it. Thank you. Simon (talk) 12:58, 17 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The "songwriting and lyrics" section could use expansion. Maybe detail some of Lorde's comments on her songwriting process (one source here, for instance.--¿3family6 contribs 16:34, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    Done. Simon (talk) 11:00, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Same with the "influences" section. Lorde cites a lot more influences.--¿3family6 contribs 16:34, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
The influences on the article are all that I could find. Perhaps you have several further references? Simon (talk) 11:00, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
In her a Telegraph article it mentions Sylvia Plath and TS Eliot. HuffPo mentions The Smiths and Bon Iver, and Lorde cites Drake. In this one she mentions Billie Holiday, Sam Cooke, Thom Yorke/Radiohead, Niki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Jamie Woon, Arcade Fire, T.S. Eliot (again), Sylvia Plath (again), and Walt Whitman. Rolling Stone mentions Kurt Vonnegut and Laurie Anderson.--¿3family6 contribs 16:13, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
There should also be some discussion of her partnership with Joel Little, as he is as much responsible for her sound as she is.--¿3family6 contribs 16:34, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think that this should be included in the Joel Little article, not the Lorde article. Simon (talk) 11:00, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't have to be much - just a paragraph. This source and the Rolling Stone interview have some good info that I think should be mentioned.--¿3family6 contribs 16:13, 21 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Uhm, I think everything is done. Much appreciated, Simon (talk) 13:59, 22 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
Encyclopedic tone, represents coverage in reliable sources.--¿3family6 contribs 16:34, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
    Stable despite frequent revisions.--¿3family6 contribs 15:42, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  6. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free content have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
Images are released to Creative Commons. The sound clip has appropriate fair-use rationale.--¿3family6 contribs 15:42, 14 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  7. Overall: Several issues of coverage remaining.--¿3family6 contribs 16:34, 15 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    checkY All issues are resolved.--¿3family6 contribs 18:37, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
    Pass/Fail:

Final comments

[edit]

The issues that I noticed in the article, by and large, are cleared up. The influences section was nicely expanded. Good work, . However, there still needs to be more than a sentence about Joel Little. Take a look at The Beatles article for examples of how to incorporate information about a producer into an artist article. Obviously, Joel Little is no George Martin, and there won't be as much information, and won't need to be as much prose about him in this article as there is for Martin in the Beatles article, but, there still should be more than a sentence.--¿3family6 contribs 17:28, 22 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Is it alright now? Simon (talk) 13:28, 23 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Yes.
