What is a "Digital First Retailer?"

[edit]

What in the world is a "Digital First Retailer?" You can't just drop in a new term and not link or post a reference. KJRehberg (talk) 00:32, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Seconding what appears to be a call to amend this language.
It would appear that "digital-first" would not accurately reflect the corporation's present status as a digital-only retailer. Encyclopedic style would dictate word choice with clarity - over ambiguous or nebulous terms i.e. "weasel words".
Citations indicate that Saadia operates no retail locations under the L&T brand.
Do we have any objection? Or would this serve as consensus to maintain consistent verbiage and refer to an online retailer as such, across similar articles? IE - ModCloth, Gilt, Wayfair 173.52.238.71 (talk) 07:08, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Digital first is a specific kind of e-commerce retailer which usually operates no brick and mortar stores. The language is fine. Stupidcupid6 (talk) 16:07, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Term does not seem to be of academic merit, it's found exclusively in first-party sources in relation to L&T's "transformed" operations -- it's fairly evident these are marketing-jargon euphemism for "online retailer" and "bankruptcy", respectively. 173.52.238.71 (talk) 21:10, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Previous wording seemed better and more to the point, especially as it made clear that the bankruptcy was the reason for the turn to e-commerce.Orenburg1 (talk) 08:51, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"Digital-first" is a retailer whose main focus is online. I like the older wording better, and I've reverted thusly. — Red-tailed hawk (nest) 01:19, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No citations and the paragraph reads promotion. Seems odd 108.53.84.25 (talk) 23:34, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
