@Merrilee: In your recent edit summary, you wrote "does not characterize his departure as a retirement", but in fact a press release from OCLC that is cited in the article says "Lorcan Dempsey, known globally as a thought leader and strategist for libraries, has announced his plans to retire..." @Merrilee: But the official OCLC press release, which is also cited, says that he was to retire, and that positive evidence says more than whatever he failed to say in a personal blog post. If he wasn't retiring, he could have corrected the record in his blog post, but he didn't. Do you have some other information about the situation beyond the press release and the blog post?
