The prefix is the bits of the address that are set in the subnet mask.
The article text is a bit misleading, as any bits of this prefix must match the destination address in order to make a matching entry - I will correct this. -- Juergen 80.132.162.57 (talk) 22:33, 23 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
