[edit]

I've altered this article so that it concerns the book "Londonstani" by Gautam Malkani rather than the term, which hasn't truly entered into the language (and in fact isn't used once in the book itself).

The book does deserve a page, as it is on many UK bestseller lists.

The plot summary reads like a 6th grade book report, especially the ending, I don't think the write understood the book at all. It should be cleaned up.

Yes, the summary is poor and the writer of the article clearly missed the point of the novel. I took the time to clarify the ending and correct some other details that were just wrong, but I did not take the time to re-write the whole thing. This article needs more work.

Sales figures

[edit]

I removed the paragraph which disputed the sales figures in Private Eye, as no sources were provided for the various assertions. While there may be very good reasons to doubt the sales figures given in the magazine, I don't think adding unsourced comments to the article helps matters.217.155.20.163 19:29, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As an aside, what would be considered a "good" sales figure for a first-time novel by a non-celebrity author? How usual is it for first-timers to get the massive advance payment and heavy promotion that Malkani got for Londonstani? 217.155.20.163 19:33, 5 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The plot

[edit]

The plot sounds like its written by a 10th grader, seriously needs to be improved, with inline citations. --Street Scholar (talk) 10:16, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
