The £$€ disambiguation page mentions this article and the London Stock Exchange as names who have been shortened to "£$€". I want to add a "stylized as '£$€'" in the beginning of the article to reflect that but I can't find any mention online of £$€. I feel like the disambiguation page should have to add sources. 3point1415 (talk) 05:36, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I’ve never heard of such a nickname (though it’s obviously a play on the abbreviated name). If it can’t be verified, it calls into question whether we should have the dab page. -- Malcolmxl5 (talk) 07:59, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
according to the history section, nothing significant happened at our was accomplished by the LSE between the second world war and 2001. Then loads of stuff happened. This looks like WP:RECENTISM – some stuff should be added for the second half of the 20ty century, and some stuff should be trimmed from the 21st century. Much of this article and references are written in context of the overarching School of Economics, to the point where it seems this content should be included as a section at the target page. Utopes(talk / cont)03:36, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose Most of the references and text, such as they are, are specific to the law school. There's plenty of room for improvement there, but the article is only two days old. It would be better to improve in place – it is one of the UK's more important law schools, and it's rather surprising that it didn't have an article before now. Robminchin (talk) 15:33, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose: I created the article, so I’m not sure if it’s appropriate for me to comment - apologies if it isn’t. This article only discusses LSE Law School and does not duplicate information from the main LSE page. Other leading law schools in the UK and elsewhere have pages separate from the universities they are part of, too. Arandomstring (talk) 23:29, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Might be better to move it to draft space so time can be spent on polishing it (more history, infobox, picture or two); however, that should require at a minimum the consent of the creator and, since a merge proposal has been put in place, a consensus here. I note one reason for not merging to this article is the the main LSE article is already quite big. --Erp (talk) 03:18, 1 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose Most universities have a separate page for their law schools. It doesn't make sense to merge the two together. -- Ocuil7T·C18:21, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support Whether most universities have an article for their law schools isn't the criteria (aka WP:OSE) we should be considering, but whether this subject is notable enough in its own right to warrant an article. In my experience, universities usually are notable, but individual faculties/colleges/schools and other sub-units thereof usually aren't. This article cites only the LSE's own website, which is clearly not independent, plus three university rankings, which do not provide the sort of sigcov that notability requires; therefore none of the sources counts towards WP:GNG notability. If the author believes they can find sources that do satisfy that guideline and need time to look for them, this could be moved to drafts in the meantime. Otherwise merge to the LSE main article as nommed. --DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:10, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The question of notability was not raised in the original nomination; the question was whether there should be a stand-alone article on the law school (i.e. per WP:PAGEDECIDE). It seems highly likely that the subject is notable, and nobody has actually raised a claim that the LSE Law School specifically isn't notable (just your general, and true, statement that departments are not usually notable, but the evidence also seems to be that highly ranked law schools such as this have generally been considered notable). I also note that WP:GNG is about whether a subject is notable and is not dependent on the references being cited in the article (although this is obviously a good idea). OPPose LSE Law School, was announced as other than a mere department of LSE fairly recently, and having a separate wikipedia page reflects this 86.141.210.46 (talk) 11:06, 1 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
