Changes

[edit]

I made a WP:BOLD change to address that this article or disambugation page should primarily define logicians as the plural of logician, making it easy to find the definition of a logician and of the field of the logic. And then additionally to provide the List of logicians. When I came to the article, the only definition for logician I found was at List of logicians.

I posted Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Philosophy#Logicians to get a wide audience of this obscure redirect. We should probably move the discuss there to here. I also put notice of both at Talk:School_of_Names. --David Tornheim (talk) 03:25, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Guppyfinsoup: Since you created this article as a redirect, I wanted to make sure you are aware of the discussion and the change. --David Tornheim (talk) 04:06, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Disambugation Page

[edit]

@Boleyn: Thank you for this edit. When I made this WP:BOLD change, I was not really sure how to do the disambiguation page correctly or whether it was even acceptable to convert a redirect page to a disambiguation page. I wasn't sure where the documentation was that would answer the question quickly, so I just looked at Plant_(disambiguation) and stole the template {{disambig|surname}} from that page and changed it from "plant" to "logicians". Although I have looked at numerous disambiguation and redirect pages, and watched articles changed after an WP:AfD discussion, I don't really understand how these pages are different than regular articles in terms of wiki-coding, what special rules they might have, and what the rules are for changing from one form to another form are. So I hoped someone with expertise would correct me if I screwed up.

I admit, I did question why "plant" would have the parameter surname, but I just left it. If there is any simple documentation you would like to refer me to about disambiguation and redirects, I would appreciate it. Hopefully not too overwhelming, like so many of our policies and documentation pages... Again thank you for any help on this and for drawing attention to the mistake I made. --David Tornheim (talk) 03:59, 25 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
