Can anyone help me with this one? --Jane Lorn (talk) 16:44, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think he is the typical barbarian... He has often showed depth beyond what a typical barbarian would show. (Guest)

"Logen has continued to shed the Conan cliché Joe initially gave him. Granted, he is still an extremely strong and powerful character, but Abercombie plumbs an altogether different depth with Logen, from the brief insightful words he says to his considered interactions with the other characters." http://www.sffworld.com/brevoff/430.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.224.232.21 (talk) 06:12, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In reading the text, it looks to me like the Bloody Nine is perhaps not so much a schizophrenic alter ego but rather a manifestation of a spirit of the other side. We see this possibility in the communication Logen has with spirits and with his enhanced abilities tied to burning fire (also seen in Luthar's abilities in the Contest in the first book - tied to the wizard's tapping the Other Side for power). --173.74.238.39 (talk) 05:07, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
