average truck deck height

[edit]

anybody know? Jandrinov 04:06, 28 January 2006 (UTC) A truck deck slopes from the cab to the rear, a 'dock leveller' is set at 1.2m above the dock yard, to accept trucks.[reply]

Most docks are between 48" & 52" with the newer buildings being on the taller side. Most bobtail trucks (city delivery) run 45"-47"...over the road up to 52" and some refrigerated vans hitting in the high 50s. Newer air-ride trailers can adjust the truck bed height for a better match.YogiRon 22:23, 1 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Dangers"

[edit]

Are these dangers to people or to property? I suspect the latter, but the wording of "serious accidents" seems to imply the former. Is there any documentation of these sorts of accidents? (Sometimes I hate Wikipedia's notability guidelines, because industry-specific knowledge that is common fact is almost never documented, and yet to a layman it is not considered common fact so it can't be written unsourced either.) --208.181.64.45 (talk) 23:39, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
