Deer Capital of Texas

[edit]

My dad and his friends used to have deer lease near Llano and there was a sign that said Llano was the deer hunting capital of Texas/the world; I can't remember. Zeos386sx 06:10, 9 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Llano is the Deer Capital of Texas.

Tips

[edit]

One of the main things would be references. Inline citiations, reference section. A see also section wouldn't hurt. Expand the intro to atleast four or five sentences. Media outlets, shopping, and historical sites should be covered. That should get ya going. Joe I 19:25, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation

[edit]

The pronuciation of "Llano" should be included. Here is what the web has to say:

"Llano is Spanish for "plains," and the double L is pronounced as a Y. However the common pronunciation of Llano by the locals is LAN-OH. " [1]

"Llano - Everyone who knows even the smallest bit of Spanish wants to use the correct Spanish pronunciation, in which the double "L" is said like a "Y" (when the "Y" functions as a consonant). When in Austin, you can say it in Spanish, but when you’re in Llano, try saying "Lano" with a short "A". The residents will appreciate your indulgence." This site needs a complete re-write. The History section has been lifted verbatim from the Handbook of Texas online. Much of the rest of it also seems to be a verbatim lift from other places. i.e., the section on Badu House seems to have been lifted from the commercial home page of the Badu House. Little ole Llano needs a lot of help, if anyone out there has the resources to give it some assistance. Maile66 (talk) 20:05, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
