Welsh name

[edit]

I've removed the name "Maes-y-lan" from the |welsh_name= parameter. The OS 1:50,000 map puts the name "Maes-y-lan" in smaller type, directly below the name Llanddowror; but this is not how the OS indicate Welsh names - see for example the town to the north east, which is shown as "St Clears /
Sanclêr", again on two lines, but in equal-sized type and with an oblique stroke between. The juxtaposition of Llanddowror with Maes-y-lan seems to be purely coincidental: on the 1:25,000 they are widely separated, and it is clear that Maes-y-lan refers to a small group of buildings about 3/4 mile to the east-south-east.

As for the actual Welsh name for Llanddowror, the community council website says "Cyngor Cymuned Llanddowror & Llanmiloe" so the Welsh spelling is the same as in English. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 14:54, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
