References Ambiguity

[edit]

I changed the references from what looks like MLA to wikipedia formatting. However, there was some ambiguity. The first reference said (Safarian, 1960; Tadevosyan, 2001) and the second reference said (Tadevosyan, 2001 - 2002). But, the original references were listed as follows:

References

[edit]

Safarian Kh. 1960. An effect of rock-cover on the soil erosion, soil humidity and growth and development of plants. Agricultural Science Newsletter, (Teghek. Gjugh. git.), 8, pp. 25-32.

Tadevosyan T.L. 2001. Lythoprotection of the Biodiversity in Arid Regions of Armenia.V-th conference of young scientist in Pushino. Biology - science of XXI century. Puschino, p. 298. (In Russian).

Tadevosyan, T.L. (2001): Ex Situ conservation psammophilic species of the flora and plant communities of Ararat Valley. PhD thesis. Institute of Botany, Yerevan, Nation. Acad. Sci. Rep. Arm. (In Russian).

As you can see, there is no Tadevosyan 2002. I made the assumption that it was a typing mistake, and that the 3rd reference on the list was supposed to be Tadevosyan, T.L. (2002).

Therefore, when I cited the second in-line citation (i.e. (Tadevosyan, 2001 - 2002)), I assumed that it meant both "Lythoprotection of the Biodiversity in Arid Regions of Armenia" and "Ex Situ conservation psammophilic species of the flora and plant communities of Ararat Valley". However, since I am not sure of the original writer's intent (and I don't know Russian), that is just an assumption. So I left the original citations in the document as well as the wikipedia reference formatting.

But if anyone (especially the original writer) knows which Tadevosyan book they were citing, please correct it and erase the old MLA formatting.Editfromwithout (talk) 05:04, 13 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
