Not really a list of acronyms

[edit]

Intro says "Lists of acronyms contain acronyms..." with no mention of abbreviations other than acronym. But it's actually a list of abbreviations in general. Each sub-page says "[includes] pseudo-blend = an abbreviation whose extra or omitted letters mean that it cannot stand as a true acronym, initialism, or portmanteau (a word formed by combining two or more words)." or in short any ol' abbreviation.

Just looking in the Bs, the following are abbreviations but not acronyms: ba for Bashkir language, Ba for Barium, BA for Bahrian, bak for Bashkir language, bam for Bambara language ... and on and on.

As with many WP articles, this collection of pages suffers from too-many-examples-itus (TMEI). People just love to list examples. But, does WP need to be the global database for examples of notable concepts? And if that is what we want, then can we stay on topic and list only acronyms in the list of acronyms? Please.
