WikiPedia (sic) self references
[edit]Several places in the article, Categories are linked, instead of an article, and the link is marked with "(WikiPedia category)". Apart from the incorrect caps, should these be marked as such? They are a self-reference after all, which should be avoided. -- Chuq 01:52, 31 January 2006 (UTC)

It's not whether or how Wikipedia's mentioned, and it's not (duh!) self-reference; however you prefer to handle it, there should be some way to tell whether an entry is for an incomplete category or else for a single comprehensive page or list (often the same or similar topics will have both a category and a list). Apart from glancing at a status bar (which not everyone keeps on his or her browser), a process which requires you to mouse over each entry individually, there's no prima facie way of distinguishing (as there would be on a category page when this article is just a list.) Be cautious. And (paradoxically) Happy Bastille Day! Shakescene (talk) 18:24, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
