What about Charlotte's Web, Ghost, The Addams Family and Wayne's World?

[edit]

They are not MGM movies, they were released by Paramount Pictures. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.51.84.128 (talk) 19:08, 10 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Upcoming films

"Anna and the Apocalypse" could be added to the "Upcoming Films" section (Nov 30 2018 Limited) (Dec 7 2018 Wide Release). Saying "Distribution only, through Orion Pictures". Removal of misleading information

[edit]

I am currently going through the list removing references like "A Mervyn LeRoy Production" (or Frank Borzage, Clarence Brown, etc). I consider this misleading, as the individual mentioned not an independent producer releasing through MGM or even necessarily in charge of a production unit within MGM. I am checking the American Film Institute's Catalog of Feature Films on the assumption that I may find independent films which are not identified as such on this list. As I side issue, it is clear many articles are listing MGM as the distributor of its films. This is not totally wrong, but the parent company Loew's Inc (also in the credits indicated as the copyright holder at the time of first release) is strictly accurate.

The Upside

The Upside is by Annapurna Pictures, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and The Weinstein Company and releases on March 9, 2018. Can someone add it to the list? 98.235.48.206 (talk) 23:57, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

What about A Star Is Born?

[edit]

A Star Is Born needs to be added to this list. MGM is on the film's poster. 98.235.131.222 (talk) 16:40, 8 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Just because someone's logo is on a poster doesn't make them a production company. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 20:33, 8 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Something's not right.

[edit]

Can someone change the upcoming films section? It hasn't been fixed for a while. Creed II actually comes out on November 21, 2018. Also, New Line Cinema and Annapurna Pictures are NOT production companies of the film. 98.235.131.222 (talk) 19:18, 17 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

New Line wasn't mentioned at all in the source cited. I cited Variety Insight for the production companies instead. The distribution seems murkier. The Deadline source did mention a distribution partnership with Annapurna, but it didn't say that Annapurna was going to be be distributing this specific film. Insight also doesn't say they're distributing it. I removed that until someone can provide a better source. I have no clue who is distributing what, so it'd help if people found a source that explicitly says "Annapurna is distributing Creed 2". NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 03:45, 18 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Also, A Star Is Born (2018 film) and The Girl in the Spider's Web (film) are already released. Can someone move them up to 2018? 98.235.131.222 (talk) 21:46, 12 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Your request is blank or it only consists of a vague request for editing permission. It is not possible for individual users to be granted permission to edit a semi-protected page; however, you can do one of the following:
  • If you have an account, you will be able to edit this page four days after account registration if you make at least 10 constructive edits to other pages.
  • If you do not have an account, you can create one by clicking the Login/Create account link at the top right corner of the page and following the instructions there. Once your account is created and you meet four day/ten edit requirements you will be able to edit this page.
  • You can request unprotection of this page by asking the administrator who protected it. Instructions on how to do this are at WP:UNPROTECT. A page will only be unprotected if you provide a valid rationale that addresses the original reason for protection.
  • You can provide a specific request to edit the page in "change X to Y" format on this talk page and an editor who is not blocked from editing will determine if the requested edit is appropriate. —KuyaBriBriTalk 13:43, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I also agree with a split of the MGM library into several pages. All points mentioned make complete sense, and it has been way too long that it has a page here featuring all of its films under a very small space. WaylonSmithers73 (talk) 01:30, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please add Black Christmas to the List of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer films#2000s. MGM was the distributor in the US; it can be seen on the Wikipedia page of the movie and also in the highly reliable sources below. It was released on December 25, 2006, and produced by Dimension Films, 2929 Productions, Adelstein-Parouse Productions, Hard Eight Pictures, and Hoban Segal Productions.
