Germany not in list

[edit]

Is there a specific reason why the Germany zoo list is separate? I was searching for that and overlooked it at first.... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.43.212.106 (talk) 13:15, 25 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Who Knew?

[edit]

Only 5 Canadian provinces have zoos... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Marshmello (talkcontribs) 21:44, 1 February 2007 (UTC).[reply]

flag icons

[edit]

Does anyone really, really like the flag icons? If not, I suggest removing them. They make the page load very slowly, add little value, and mess up section linkage. For example List of zoos#Oregon intuitively worked formerly, but must now be List of zoos#.C2.A0Oregon. —EncMstr (talk) 21:29, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since no one said a thing, they're now removed. That was an incredible challenging transformation, except for a few stretches. I didn't check to see if the countries and state section headers were wikilinked before converted to flags, but they are now. I think I caught all the unique cases such as Victoria (Australia), but could have made a few point to the wrong article. —EncMstr (talk) 21:31, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I really really liked the flags, they were so colourful!Johnsp1 (talk) 18:36, 7 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Order of countries

[edit]

Is there a reason why countries are separated into multiple regions rather than just being listed alphabetically? It seems to me that a straight alphabetical list is much easier to find things in, as opposed to (for instance), finding Fiji under a section titled "Australia/Oceania" and thus under "A" rather than "F" or even "O". Donlammers (talk) 11:13, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Being European with lots of countries nearby I find the current order very helpful. --77.181.233.40 (talk) 20:02, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Expanding Intro

[edit]

Per Wikipedia:Stand-alone lists, I have taken a first stab at a definition of what goes in this list, and added it to the intro. If I don't hear objections, I will take this same definition to the "List of zoos in..." articles, then eventually add an equivalent definition to the lists of aquaria and dolphinariums. Largest zoo

[edit]

Hi, I was looking for largest zoo in the world (I am still looking) and I think this list could be improved by adding some informations like the date of creation, the size of the zoo, the number of animals, etc. Lionel Allorge (talk) 11:45, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

First, how do you define "largest?" Most area? Most animals? Most species? Most conservation programs? I don't think anyone would mind some additional information in this list. However, unless you are volunteering, it's unlikely to happen in the near future. Donlammers (talk) 14:00, 8 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
