Rename proposal
This article was kept in accordance with the discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Near future in video gaming. A lot of people were supportive of a rename. I probably won't be back to complete it, but if someone wants to do it, go ahead. I might suggest:
- List of future video game releases
- Video games scheduled for future release
- Video games currently under development
... something like that. Use your judgment. Randomran (talk) 19:42, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
2009 In video gaming
When do we make that article cause it's two months till 2009 and I think its time to make one. The luigi kart assasions 8:36, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

- Oh well. I have moved it. Thanks to this article. It made the job easier to move. 2009 video games will have larger games and needs a better and clear table. Hence i will be adding a new and better version of table but it will hard first slowly everyone will get it. Good luck. --SkyWalker (talk) 17:40, 3 November 2008 (UTC)
- If you plan to use a new table format, you should discuss it, or else all your changes might be in vein, like how the table format you had chose in 2008 in video gaming was changed to the format used in 2007 in video gaming, because others did not find it to be a "better version" (see Talk:2008 in video gaming#Bring back the old system). --Silver Edge (talk) 01:06, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
- None of those guys have edited. They wanted the old format because it is simple. Look at the 2008 in video gaming. Adding a lot of games is making the table look so bleh. After looking at 2008 in film. It look so good. Anyways the table will not be that complex. --SkyWalker (talk) 05:46, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Should we merge the 2009 section into 2009 in video gaming?
Its really stupid because they are adding things to the section that are already in the main page. Noneofyour (talk) 17:24, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

- FYI most of the titles removed already have references in their associated main articles. It'll mostly be a matter of copying and pasting in the reference line. I did notice, though, that some of these titles are actually 2009 releases, which would be included in the 2009 article instead of this one. 19:01, 6 August 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.95.36.13 (talk)

Move 2010 to its own page
I feel, with 2010 being less than three months away, 2010 in VG should be moved to its own page and the corresponding page updated to refelect recent changes in video game scheduling. --WTRiker (talk) 05:06, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

2010s in video gaming
As we are heading into the 2010s in 2 days time this article deals with video games of 2010s so therefore in line with 1990s in video gaming and 2000s in video gaming articles, this article should be called 2010s in video gaming and any games realeased in a particular year should be put into '20xx in video games' article as well as the 2010s one rather then the vague one of video games in development. Pro66 (talk) 08:45, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
FIRST OF ALL PRO66.. LISTEN THIS CAREFULLY. What you have told this totally wrong. If you look at previous articles such has 1990s in video gaming and 2000s in video gaming. You don't find releases of the games. IT TALKS ABOUT EVENTS. THE SAME GOES WITH 2010s in video gaming. IT IS NOT MEANT FOR THE RELEASE DATE AND GAMES UNDER DEVELOPMENT. List of video games in development this ARTICLE IS MEANT FOR SUCH PURPOSE. NOW STOP DOING ANY MORE VANDALISM. --SkyWalker (talk) 12:27, 30 December 2009 (UTC)
- First off i advise you not to use captital letters throughout, a future decade in video games article don't have to have events you speak of its not a necessary thing look at 2010s and future decades for example, they got planned events but your right in that 1990s in video games and 2000s in video games deals with very detailed events during those decades but regardless 2010s in video games is still going to be the the current decade in few days and have lots of planned events and planned games releases are going to happen in that decade. Its like pretty much saying that 2010s and 2020s should be moved to a article called "planned events in the future coz of it don't have events like 1990s or 2000s had.
- However i will be willing to comprimise, keep the list of all the games planned for release here at List of video games in development but 2010s in video gaming should also exist with content of not list of games being release in 2010s but instead having planned events (much like 2010s and 2020s articles have) and probably have section like the decade articles i meantion detailin videos games set in 2010s Pro66 (talk) 15:46, 30 December 2009 (UTC)

Just to let you know i edited the 2010s in video games article but instead of moving the content of the video games in development there i have instead created a sepreated but similar article more in line with the 1990s and 2000s articles that can be easily improved as time goes by and it can be linked to this article. Removal
When should games be removed from this list? When a release date is announced? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.34.42.67 (talk) 05:35, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
Removed Diablo 3 due to the fact that it has a set release date in less than two months now. As the 2013/2014 Years in Gaming links redirect to this list currently, it seemed silly to keep it on this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BrokenEchelon (talk • contribs) 17:58, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Why is Halo 6 on the list?
I can sort of understand Halo 5 being there but Putting Halo 6 there with no evidence before Halo 5 has even being announced is just stupid and it being on the Xbox 360 is very unlikely. --81.102.76.9 (talk) 18:36, 14 May 2013 (UTC)
- I'm pretty sure that Halo 4 was announced as the beginning of a new trilogy, so it could probably be argued that they have technically been announced, but it does seem pretty questionable. In my opinion, it seems like games probably shouldn't be on this list unless they have their own articles, or at least dedicated sections on related articles (which Halo 5 and Halo 6 don't have, since they just redirect to a section about the "Reclaimer Trilogy", which doesn't even explicitly mention either of those games). Alphius (talk) 04:14, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
Final Fantasy Versus XIII
Somebody keeps removing Final Fantasy Versus XIII from the list (I think it might be the same person every time). I've probably put it back at least 3 times now. Could whoever's doing it please explain why? Or has it just been vandalism? It seems to obviously belong on this list, since it has been officially announced, but doesn't have a release date yet. Alphius (talk) 01:41, 15 May 2013 (UTC)
- I'm assuming it's vandalism, but this is getting into edit war territory if it somehow isn't. It's always an IP address that starts with 173.191, but the rest of the numbers change. I left a message about it on the talk page for one of its previous iterations, but there was never any response. Anyway, I'm going to fix it yet again. Alphius (talk) 03:54, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
- I've fixed it, but left another message on the talk page for the most recent IP address. Alphius (talk) 04:10, 17 May 2013 (UTC)
E3 Update
This article definitely needs an update, due to all of the recent E3 announcements. There are many more games that have been announced and that don't have release dates yet, but that are in development. Alphius (talk) 22:03, 11 June 2013 (UTC)
Including:
- Titanfall
- The Division
- Dead Rising 3
- Killzone: Shadow Fall
- Sunset Overdrive
- Forza Motorsport 5
- Ryse: Son of Rome
- Killer Instinct 3
- Project Spark
- Below
- Need for Speed: Rivals
- The Order: 1886
- Infamous: Second Son
- Knack
- Driveclub
- Wolfenstein: The New Order
- Scribblenauts Unmasked
- Bayonetta 2
- Super Smash Brothers
- Star Wars: Battlefront
- Dying Light
It's also worth mentioning that The Last Guardian was cancelled and is no longer in development. Also, Prey 2 is rumoured to be in the hands of Arkane Studios now, so it may or may not be in development. Sethylamine (talk) 22:29, 22 June 2013 (UTC)
- Dragon Age: Inquisition should also be added (fall 2014, from official trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rh8v3Et4tGE) --173.2.167.125 (talk) 14:41, 3 July 2013 (UTC)
- The Legend of Zelda (2015) is currently in development. It has an unscheduled release date (asides from being sometime in 2015) and will only be for the Wii U. Developed by Nintendo. I just made this account, so I am unable to edit the page until I do 4 edits and wait 10 days, so I would appreciate it if someone would be kind enough to add this for me. Thanks. I would if I could. Ports being included in the article
@AdrianGamer: Regarding not having ports in the article, I don't think they fit well here. Sonic 2 was announced for the 3DS recently, so should that be included? BTW, you didn't revert the other ones I removed, so I assumed I was doing something right. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 08:50, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
- You have a point. Having Sonic 2 listed here feels odd. So I guess the same situation goes with the others. I will remove them now. AdrianGamer (talk) 09:27, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Half-life 2: Episode 3 and other vaporware games
How do we handle games that were announced, but have not (yet) been released and were never officially canceled? Some of the current games on the list could be considered vaporware, too. ~ Dissident93 (talk) 04:35, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
- Well, there is List of vaporware, but for other games on hold or in limbus, we might make a list title "List of canceled video games" and handle an "on hold" list? Just and idea, though. Lordtobi (✉) 12:21, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
- I definitely think that a list talking about cancelled games is viable, and having a "on hold"/"vapourware" list would be great. I definitely do not think that some of the games listed here (Agent, Earth No More, Know Your Friends, Earthworm Jim 4 etc.) are "in development". AdrianGamer (talk) 12:29, 16 August 2016 (UTC)
