Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted as an unambiguous copyright infringement, because this seems to be a false positive, and the Wikipedia source material was built up organically over 13 years at turbofan. Much of it was added back in 2005 but even then it was significantly different: [1]. The phrases that match are common short phrases that do not amount to copyvio.

Certainly the article is not a copyvio, there may be 2-3 sentences that have been incorrectly precised, certainly a speedy delete is not called for in any way.-- GliderMaven (talk) 15:46, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Earwig's tool gives it an 86% match to an article which is an out of date clone of Wikipedia's own 'turbofan' article. [2]. That seems to be the main claim to speedy delete, but it's ridiculous, we can't be in copyvio from ourselves. GliderMaven (talk) 16:09, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, that was a bad call - circular positive. I removed it. --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 16:55, 19 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Commercial Turbofans in Production

[edit]

Great Article and this section's table is great. It would be great for a similiar bit for Military and Trubo-shadft and turbojet. Wfoj3 (talk) 18:52, 3 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Safran Section

[edit]

The Safran section (under 'France') says some things that don't make sense, such as referencing the GE90, GEx, and F110 engines as Safran engines. These engines are all clearly GE engines. Was the intended meaning that Safran helped design them? Or perhaps is contracted to manufacture them? Either much more clarity is needed or the whole thing is some sort of mistake.
