Bergen-Stavanger
[edit]Someone added Bergen-Stavanger as one of the busiest, claiming http://www.avinor.no/avinor/trafikk/20_Reisevaner as source. The source is reliable, and it is accptable to have different sources. But the value must match the source, and this source says 556,000 passengers in 2007 (1,097,000 seats) and norskbane.no (cited for some other conncetions) 667,000 passengers. So there are not enough passengers to enter the list, and wrong data was picked from the source. --BIL (talk) 16:06, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
With or without off-shore traffic?
[edit]Figures for both Stavanger and Bergen (and other airports with off-shore traffic) are excl. this traffic. If changes are made, then make them for ALL airports and not just for Bergen-Flesland. Also note, that older data seem to exclude off-shore traffic, so for comparative reasons alone it is most appropriate to disregard off-shore traffic.--Lbc71 (talk) 12:25, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- I see no encyclopedic reason to exclude this traffic. Charter traffic is included, so why discriminate? The offshore traffic represents just as much the activity and scale of an airport as any other passenger statistics. It is easy to retrieve the date for the airports from previous years, and the older date should be modified to fit those numbers. Arsenikk (talk) 15:13, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
- The off-shore traffic is a kind of general aviation, that is all air traffic except scheduled and tourist charter traffic. It seems that such traffic is included in the Swedish transportstyrelsen figures [1] (note: only until November 2009 for now). Big airports for general aviation is Göteborg City (37 passengers outside Europe) and Bromma (105 passengers outside Europe). So answer: yes. --BIL (talk) 15:23, 14 January 2010 (UTC)
Largest vs. busiest
[edit]Shouldn't the article name be List of the busiest airports in the Nordic countries? See for instance all the other articles in Category:Lists of airports. 'Largest', in its strictest sense, refers to physical size~(area, runway length etc.), while 'busiest' would always refer to traffic. I'm not saying the current title is wrong, just that 'busiest' would be better. Any thoughts anyone? Arsenikk (talk) 21:20, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
International passengers & errors
[edit]Copenhagen is by far the most buisy airport in the Nordic countries, specially when counting international passengers or take-offs / landings. International transfer passengers (who does not check out and then in again, but stays inside the security-zone is counted once only) - since passengers are counted at check-in. Only Copenhagen has such facilities of fast changing aircraft. Also the cargo traffic is not shown at this page. Nore if airline companies have their base (i.o. thier traffic office at the airport. Copenhagen has at least six traffic offices - SAS, SAS-cargo, Norwegian, Thomas Cook, Cimber Sterling, and ex-Maersk (do not recall new name).

- Direct intercontinental flights (Las Palmas, Tenerife, Istanbul etc not counted)
- Copenhagen Kastrup - 12 flights (Kazan, Marrakech, Damascus, Tel Aviv, Newark, Cairo, Chicago, Tokyo, Lahore, Dubai, Beijing, Bangkok)
- Gardemoen Oslo - 5 flights (Sharm-El-Sheik, Newark, Newark, Bangkok, Dubai)
- Stockholm Arlanda - 7 flights (Sharm-El-Sheik, Chicago, NewYork, New York, Bangkok, Krabi, Phuket)
From Stockholm also two special flights with final destination Addis Abbeba departures, but theese are not regular flights and not direct (via Helsinki in one case and via Hamburg in another) One flight from Stockholm to Hamburg continues to Teheran. Theese flights are thow included among the 191 flights from Stockholm this day. Flights from Copenhagen to Greenland is not counted at all in this example. Of the three airports Gardemoen Oslo differs very much - since the domestic flights is about 50%. As international airport Arlanda, Stockholm is most probably the second buisiest. Domestic vs international
[edit]If this subject is to be taken seariously, I think that the number of international and domestic passengers ought to be mentoned aswell. And airports like Västerås and Skavsta can hardly be concidered as Stockholm airports. Fly to Västerås an taking a taxi "in to the city" would eighter be Västerås (a city with at least 100.000 inhabitants) - or very expensive indeed, some 150-200 km away from Stockholm. While as Bromma only is a few km from the city center of Stockholm. - We should not enter domestic and international, since those figures are not always available, and it is a lot of work to find sources and update the tables every year as it is. Skavsta is for sure serving Stockholm, wouldn't have 2.5 million passengers if serving only Nyköping. Västerås (110 km from Stockholm) is more doubtful, but please discuss the airport name in the approriate article Stockholm-Västerås Airport, not here. --BIL (talk) 07:26, 9 May 2012 (UTC)
Naming of swedish airports
[edit]As a general remark: it appears that many/all swedish airports are doubble named, e.g. Stockholm-Skavsta Airport, Göteborg-Landevetter Airport, etc. All names ought to appear without "-". Jcs45 (talk) 15:58, 13 November 2012 (UTC)

[edit]At present the article does not have footnotes, only non-specific references listed at the bottom of the page. This becomes a problem when there is incorrect data, which is apparently the case. For example, in the aircraft movements list for 2011, Keflavik is listed in spot number 10 with 54,245 movements, yet according to the wikipedia page for Trondheim airport and its listed source ( "Aircraft Movement statistics from Avinor" (xls). Avinor. Retrieved 9 April 2012.), Trondheim has the higher number of 57,912.
In the section on Busiest Extra European-Union Air Routes for 2011, the data for Sweden is too low for several routes:
- Stockholm-New York (should be at least 303,854 instead of 243,625)
- Stockholm-Istanbul (should be at least 268,384)
- Stockholm-Antalya (should be at least 276,727)
- Stockholm-Beijing (should be at least 148,802)

History
[edit]Keeping tree years of statistics history on the same page makes it terrible to read. I don't really see the point of more than last years figures compared with the previous year in the same table. Monthly lists.
[edit]Due to its nature, the page 'List of the busiest airports in the Nordic countries' is currently updated around once a year and doesn't provide an interesting source of information between the annual listchange. Would there be a chance to make monthly lists? It's an option to add it to this page, or to create a new page for monthly lists, but it would provide interesting updates for many Wiki-users, who quite often, like myself, enjoy lists and to see the changes. It might be most interesting to make the list into a top 20-list in the Nordic countries to see the progress, as most of these numbers are released by airport and aviation authorities within a few days after the change of each month. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ladyrohan (talk • contribs) 01:24, 9 November 2013 (UTC)

A top 10-list sounds great, and should be doable. These statistics are released promptly by the aviation authorities in the Scandinavian lands every month, and due to the nature of the long list, a top 10 would more than suffice as for further information to those interested. Greenland and how to deal with old statistics
[edit]My addition of Greenland's two largest airport was reverted, claiming the data to be old. By that edit contained year 2012 data. Read the airport articles.
Second, I would like to allow old data if there is no new data, with an explanation that the data is old. It is generally accepted within statistics that old and new data data can be mixed if it is noted what time the data is from. Imagine having a list of largest cities and exclude the two largest since the data is from previous year.
I previously added Greenland's two largest airport in a separate list noting the year. But they were removed again, hinting to the reader they are too small to be included. There has previous years been a problem that Iceland provided data so late that they were removed from this list, hinting to the reader they are too small to be included. The rank also got wrong. So I suggest for the future to allow a separate list of older data. And for Greenland for now, to include the largest airports since they have sourced 2012 data.--BIL (talk) 11:26, 23 December 2013 (UTC)

2020 Coronavirus Statistics
[edit]Why do we need this section ? All over the Europe, the number of people flying is drastically less in April 2020 compared to April 2019. There doesn't seem to be anything special about the Nordic countries which requires demonstrating this. Perhaps there should instead be a page on wikipedia about the decline of air travel in 2020 due to coronavirus, and then when the statistics for the 12 months of 2020 are availble, we should add a reference to this new page ? Just showing in explicit detail how almost all airports have suffered a decline of traffic of over 90% seems unnecessary on a page that is meant to be about the Nordic airports Pmbma (talk) 17:02, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
