Nexan's factory tower in Halden

[edit]

Norwegian branch of Nexans has a factory tower in Halden, Norway, used in production of underwater cables for power or for signal transmission. The tower has been in use for many years already, with a registered height of (approximately) 105 meters, give or take a foot. See link: [1] During spring and summer of 2010 tower has been extended in height, a few new floors have been added, and after this add-on was completed in 2011, new height is now (approximately) 122 meters high. See: [2].

The building crane, seen on pictures in the picture rig on [3] reached 136 meters, but was - obvious enough - just temporary.

I am sorry I can not verify the exact height in feet, as such is not found on the net. Further, I am not able to confirm whether technical equipment on top of roof is included in the given height estimate or not. By visual estimate this might add on between 5 and 8 feet. 122 meters will then be as exact I can get. I do not find any prove of the unofficial claims that it is 126 meters, but I will keep searching. TorSch (talk) 16:44, 25 June 2012 (UTC) (of no.wiki)[reply]
