Why "List of"?

My question's beyond the scope of this article, but seeing this reminded me, and I'm not sure where else to ask: Why does WP bother including the words "List of..." in titles of articles like these? Why not just (for example) "Tallest buildings in Frankfurt"? Less is more, right? – AndyFielding (talk) 08:26, 8 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
