[edit]According to the FT today (26/11/18) there approaching 4m indicies in existence having risen 12% in the year to 30/6/18. I wonder whether it is possible to even consider maintaing this page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by KitemanGB (talk • contribs) 12:56, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
Where can I find the indices here, which measure stock market volatilities and risks, in addition to VIX from CBOE?
US-Marketcapitalization
[edit]For the USA there are a lot of indices offered. Is it possible to give a short overview of the marketcapitalization of the US-Indices? Thanks
- I agree - I was looking for Market Cap and this page didn't help. Hard to know how to do that dimension in the listing. Egret 23:52, 3 September 2007 (UTC)
Page organization
[edit]Hi,
wouldnt it make more sense to organize this page as table (columns: index symbol, index name, country/marketplace, description of index)? What do you think? -- 78.53.73.12 (talk) 08:12, 4 July 2010 (UTC)
Missing Indices
[edit]A discussion section for missing indices may be helpful.
For Taiwan, I noticed that there are at least three indices at Yahoo Finance that are not mentioned here. These are called:
- FTSE TWSE Taiwan Eight Industries Index (TWEI.TW)
- FTSE TWSE Taiwan Dividend+ Index (TWDP.TW)
- FTSE TWSE Taiwan Mid-Cap 100 Index (TWMC.TW)
This made me wonder what are the standards for inclusion in this list. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Thomasbhiggins (talk • contribs) 11:59, 17 August 2011 (UTC)
There is no Slovakian SAX index — Preceding unsigned comment added by 109.231.51.176 (talk) 13:37, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
Came looking for emerging markets indices. There is a MSCI Emerging Markets index, but couldn't identify abbreviation. Fhobbs (talk) 01:38, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
Global Indexes
[edit]There is no longer a FTSE Global 100 listed on ftse.com, so I've deleted it (the target page had already been deleted). While doing that, I noticed that FTSE has 10 or more global indexes, none of which seem to be listed here. I don't imagine anyone wants the job of housekeeping this list, so wouldn't it be better just to reference providers of indexes, provide links to their websites and let people look up what the current product offering is?
