Confusion

[edit]

"It uses a variety of dishes and ingredients indigenous to the United States, brought over from Africa by slaves, and shared with Native Americans". This doesn't make any sense. If it's "indigenous to the United States", it wouldn't have been brought over from Africa by slaves, it would have always existed in the north american continent. If Africans did bring the ingredients over, they would be considered indigenous to Africa, not the united states. --66.253.36.46 (talk) 17:45, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Those are three different things. It uses indigineous ingredients, foods introduced by people brought over from Africa, and other items from Native American cuisine. Perhaps it could be worded better? ChildofMidnight (talk) 20:08, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ok that makes more sense. I've reworded it accordingly to better convey what you said. --66.253.36.46 (talk) 10:06, 22 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Removal

[edit]

It makes no sense at all to remove some of the article claiming it is not sourced but to leave the rest of the unsourced material alone. I restored what was removed. Gune (talk) 06:00, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"(If this content was removed it's disputed. So it shouldn't be restored unless they're cited. I can't find any evidence of Cheadles restaurant for example. Please restore with cites or not at all."

Look at the reason why I put everything back. Yes Cheadle's restaurant shouldn't be in there but removing everything else that was restored was pure ignorance. It shows you didn't actually read my comment on this talk page as to why I restored everything. Gune (talk) 12:06, 30 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sources

[edit]

I didn't get a chance to use these sources [1] and [2]. Banana pudding shows up all over the place and here's a pretty "reliable" source [3]. And this one to main soul food article [4] ChildofMidnight (talk) 08:30, 30 June 2009 (UTC) Can someone access this [5]? The greedy socialists at the New York Times aren't willing to share. Soul food???

[edit]

what you considered soul food is not soul food! The only reason we have the food that is called soul food is because of oppression! The only reason blacks ate that garbage is because the slave owners only gave them the guts of the animal junk they wouldn't eat! Pig's feet, hog maws, chitlins, gross as hell! 67.86.181.160 (talk) 13:46, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
