This says City of Singapore was sunk by U-515 as part of convoy TS 37 on 1 January, the source given being Jordan’s World's Merchant Fleets. However, TS 37 ran in April-May, and our list page for May 43 also records this ship, sunk on 1 May (source this time being uboat.net). Jordan is a reliable source, so was she sunk in May as part of TS 37, or in January in some other circumstance?

Not the complete answer, but published Lloyd's Register Casualty Returns for 1943 (page 22 of the pdf) lists CofS as a war loss in Quarter 2 (ie Apr-Jun) - they did not publish exact dates or circumstances for war losses at that time.
