Don't merge the page

This list has some similarities to the other list but the subject matter is different. This page is concerned with learned societies whereas the other page is to do with any organisation possessing royal patronage.

Reply to above anon comment - Some of the societies are not really learned societies. More important is that some are outside UK while the other page is a UK page. Bduke 07:38, 20 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Move

Why was this moved from "List of Royal Societies" to "List of royal societies in the Commonwealth of Nations"? "Royal Society" is by and large a Commonwealth-only phrase. The few odd institutions elsewhere in the world that use the phrase can be added to their own section of "Elsewhere". I also note that Ireland is not in the Commonwealth. --Inops (talk) 21:55, 27 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
