Talk:List of presidents of the Institution of Civil Engineers

I have created this page so that the incomplete list on the Institution of Civil Engineers page can be replaced more comprehensively. It is very much a work in progress, please feel free to make any edits, I am working from The Civils by Garth Watson. Note that this is the first page I have ever created so the format of the table is perhaps a bit clunky but the best I could manage. The page also requires an introduction of some sort and external links from it. Dumelow 15:20, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This page needs to be re-classified as a Category so that it can be linked to from the main article "The Insitution of Civil Engineers" at the foot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.154.107.104 (talk) 21:26, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Any person on this list who has an article should be added to List of civil engineers. I might do it in the next week or so, but I might not. Argyriou (talk) 00:40, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll give you a hand by doing a few as and when I can. Cheers, Dumelow 14:54, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Update: I have currently transferred up to (and including) William Henry Barlow, will hopefully get the rest done over the next few days. Sorry for the "little but often" edits to the list page, I have been adding them as and when I get a couple of minutes free time. Cheers, Dumelow 22:46, 31 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New format

[edit]

The table now contains the images where available. This allows more images to be shown I think it is preferable to the older style - Dumelow (talk) 14:36, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

The image File:Sir douglas fox.JPG is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
  • That this article is linked to from the image description page.
