This page looks wrong, it has "Other plays" with musicals in, such as Annie, Anything Goes, Chicago, etc. it is also missing plays such as The Woman in Black. Just feel it could be done better and more accurately. Yikmo21 (talk) 14:47, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds like a good idea (at least splitting off the musicals), particularly so that, as you said, you can clearly list the composer(s), lyricist(s) and book writers/ screenwriters. I would not list choreographers. If people want to start drilling down that far, they can click on the article. In fact, even listing directors of plays and musicals is silly, because there are different directors of each production, and the most important production often is not the premiere (though directors of films should be listed). -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:02, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with splitting off musicals into a separate article. I don't agree with any division by alphabetical section -- that's unnecessary and defeats the purpose of the sortable wikitables, and the byte size of either genre (musical and non-musical) will not be a problem after the split, especially in the age of high-speed internet. I agree that the parameters to include in the musicals chart should be selected before the task is started; I also agree that choreographers should not be listed. Directors should not be listed for stage musicals but should be listed for their film adaptations. I don't think screenwriters should be listed for any film. I have separated the musicals from the table into another table. I am currently updating the table with other films based on muscials using the list of films on the page and once done I propose to move the table to a separate page and delete the films based on musicals from the list.
